Born from a Sacred Calling
PUNQU was born from a shared vision between Zahra and Valentin — two souls from different worlds who found common ground in the ancient healing traditions of the Andes. What began as individual journeys of seeking and service evolved into a unified mission: to create a space where the sacred medicine could be shared with integrity, safety, and deep respect for the traditions that have preserved it for millennia.
The name "PUNQU" comes from the Quechua word for "door" or "gateway" — a fitting symbol for what we offer. We are not just a retreat center; we are a threshold between the ordinary world and the extraordinary potential within each person who walks through our doors.
Nestled at the foothills of Mount Saywa in the Sacred Valley of Urubamba, our sanctuary was carefully chosen for its powerful energy, natural beauty, and proximity to the spiritual heart of the Andean world. Here, surrounded by the Apus (mountain spirits) and the wisdom of Pachamama (Mother Earth), we hold space for transformation that lasts a lifetime.
